The ingredients in PureVida™ and the OliPura™ family of products are generally considered safe and no synthetic or artificial coloring agents have been added to the products. Olive polyphenols, marine omega-3s, curcumin and black pepper are present in the diets of millions of people worldwide. However, we recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare professional who is familiar with your personal medical history before taking more than the recommended serving of any of our products. If you miss a serving, we do not recommend that you try to make it up by taking more than the recommended serving per day. Do not take a combination of two or more PureVida and OliPura products without consulting a qualified healthcare professional.
OliPura™ and PureVida™ are not synthetic drugs and their ingredients are common in human food.
In 45 individuals who participated in a small study regarding PureVida, the most common side effects that were reported were abdominal pain (2.2%), constipation (11.1%), and headache (6.7%).
If you are pregnant or nursing, taking medication, facing surgery, have bleeding problems, or undergoing any other treatment which may affect the ability of blood to clot, consult your physician before taking OliPura or PureVida.
Consult your physician if you are undergoing chemotherapy or active cancer treatment. While the ingredients in PureVida and OliPura are all natural and generally believed to be safe, it is important to check with your physician if you are taking prescription medications that may interact with these ingredients. Curcumin has been known to interact with certain diabetes and acid reflux medications.
No: Neither PureVida nor OliPura will prevent heart disease. Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. PureVida contains a minimum of 450 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA and OliPura Heart contains a minimum of 710 mg of EPA and 235 mg of DHA.
The American Heart Association recommends 2 fish meals per week as a source of omega-3 fatty acids. Two PureVida softgels taken daily for a week provide the equivalent amount of omega-3s, on average, as more than 3 fish meals per week. Two OliPura Heart softgels taken daily for a week provide the equivalent amount of omega-3s, on average, as more than 4 fish meals per week.

No: PureVida will not prevent, treat, or cure breast cancer†. Limited clinical trial evidence indicates that PureVida might lower elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in women who have survived breast cancer. In addition, the same clinical trial indicates that PureVida may reduce joint pain associated with aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy, which is often prescribed as part of a long-term prevention of recurrence regimen to breast cancer survivors†.
Levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) are increased in response to acute inflammation, infection, and tissue damage. PureVida is formulated to support the body’s natural response to chronic inflammation. Several published human studies conducted in Denmark, the U.S., and China have reported an association, in certain subsets of women evaluated over time, between lower CRP levels and long-term breast health.
For many women who have survived breast cancer, staying on prescribed aromatase inhibitor therapy is considered critical to their long-term health; adherence to AI therapy is difficult for many due to the joint pain that is a typical side effect of the therapy.

Because only one non-blinded trial, with 45 participants, has been performed††, more research is needed to confirm that PureVida reduces levels of CRP or joint pain.
The effects of PureVida and OliPura on weight loss or gain have not been studied; however, a serving of any of the products in the family has less than 14 calories and 1.2 gram of fat; see the nutrition label for additional information.

The bovine gelatin used to manufacture these products was processed with a method that meets or exceeds the standards set forth by the European Commission in October 1999. Gelatin processed in this manner has been proven safe from BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) in scientific studies conducted by the Baltimore Research and Education Foundation (USA).
The health benefits of the Mediterranean diet are supported by numerous studies such as the well-known “Seven Countries Study” and the PREDIMED Trial (a 7,447 participant, multi-center, randomized trial with a follow-up of nearly 5 years). Many experts believe that the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet are related to the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of olive-derived polyphenols such as hydroxytyrosol.
A 2014 article in Frontiers in Nutrition reviews some of the available scientific data with respect to the Mediterranean diet and one of the ingredients in PureVida™ and OliPura™, hydroxytyrosol.†
Among the separate foods that are part of the Mediterranean diet, olive oil is considered a crucial element directly related to the healthy attribution of this popular diet. Hydroxytyrosol, an antioxidant present in olives, extra virgin and virgin olive oil, is believed by many scientists to contribute to the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet.
Olive leaf, on the other hand, is not part of the Mediterranean diet. Olive leaf extracts on the market typically claim varying concentrations of oleuropein. Oleuropein is formed by elenolic acid + glucoside + hydroxytyrosol, and is not normally present in table olives or in extra virgin and virgin olive oil.
Although oleuropein is believed to partially convert to hydroxytyrosol when consumed, it does not convert 100% to hydroxytyrosol.
PureVida™ and OliPura™ don’t rely on oleuropein to provide hydroxytyrosol. Instead, they derive hydroxytyrosol directly from its source: olives. Unlike some olive leaf extracts, the hydroxytyrosol in PureVida and OliPura is extracted from the olive fruit without the use of solvents, utilizing a clean process that is patent protected.
PureVida and OliPura are encapsulated and quality tested in a cGMP certified facility in the United States.
TrePhenol™, the olive fruit extract in PureVida and OliPura, is manufactured in Spain and meets all relevant European standards.
The primary fish oil in our products is processed from pollock caught in Alaska and refined in Ohio into the omega-3 form Oliventures uses. It is sourced from AlaskOmega®; see the nutrition label for additional information.

Curcumin C3 Complex® is a patented and clinically evaluated “bioprotectant” composition of 3 curcuminoids.

No, PureVida™ and OliPura™ do not need to be refrigerated but should be stored in a cool, dry location to ensure freshness. Exposure to high heat, such as may occur in a locked hot car or a mailbox could cause the softgels to soften, melt, and/or stick together.
OliPura Rx is not a drug and does not require a prescription. Due to the strength of TrePhenol™ in each serving, OliPura Rx is not authorized for sale online or in retail stores. OliPura Rx is intended to be sold only by healthcare professionals and should be taken in accordance with their advice.

** In a prospective, multicenter, pilot study of 45 postmenopausal women (mean age 59 years) with Stage 0-IIIA hormone receptor−positive breast cancer receiving stable doses of adjuvant aromatase inhibitor therapy for 2 to 5 years from their diagnosis, PureVida significantly reduced C-reactive protein (CRP) levels (p<0.05). In 45 patients examined for safety, reported adverse events (AEs) included abdominal pain in 1 patient (2.2%), constipation in 5 patients (11.1%), headache in 3 patients (6.7%), and abnormal product taste (fish taste) in 14 patients (31.1%). No patients had to discontinue therapy due to AEs. This study was conducted by Oliventures. There has been substantial separate research into the potential benefits of each of the ingredients in PureVida. The PureVida trial has not been peer reviewed and more research is needed before drawing any final conclusions.
